日本光電工業株式會社（Nihon Kohden）成立于1951年，是世界最著名的醫用電子儀器生產公司之一，其宗旨是"以電子技術與疾病進行斗爭"，主要產品有：監護儀、腦電圖機、心電圖機、除顫器及MEK系列血球計數儀共5大類。公司股票1961年在東京上市。

第三家是尼虹光電貿易（上海）有限公司，負責在中國大陸營銷“NIHON KOHDEN”品牌的原裝產品外，同時也負責日本光電旗下——上海光電的組裝產品以及美荻特光電的醫療軟件。因此公司的商號--“尼虹光電”四字就源自于“NIHON KOHDEN ”的日語諧音。
